2019 was a busy year for Vietnamese football. After finishing the Asian U23 qualifier, King’s Cup 2019, our team will attend another very important tournament, the 2022 World Cup qualifier.
Although there is still a long time to go to the qualifying round, right from this moment VFF has specific plans for the Vietnamese team to have the best preparation.
Accordingly, recently VFF General Secretary, Le Hoai Anh answered the press about the plan of the Vietnamese team and U23 Vietnam for the rest of 2019.
Notably, this VFF leader revealed the number of players summoned by Coach Park Hang Seo to the Vietnamese team for the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers:
“Each match in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers can only register 23 players, so according to Mr. Park, in each upcoming gathering, only 27 players will be called up to facilitate the screening. Particularly for the U23 team, 30 players will be called each time, the list of summons in September will be expanded, not stopping at 30 names in the time to focus on kicking with Myanmar U23.
Because both teams focus on three FIFA Days taking place in early September, October and November, assistant Kim Han Yoon continues to manage the U23 Vietnam team, Coach Park Hang Seo will lead the Vietnamese team. World Cup qualifiers”.
27 players is a rather modest number for the preparation process of the Vietnamese team. However, the urgent preparation time before each tournament made the Korean teacher convene just enough to facilitate the screening.
With the successful competition in King’s Cup 2019, the Vietnamese team has a safe position on the FIFA rankings and is favorable for the 2022 World Cup qualifying draw.
Certainly with the above great advantage, our golden stars will have a lot of hope to reach the dream of the World Cup.
