“30 Rock” stars Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin are definitely not newcomers to the Emmy nominations list, but they pair said they’re grateful nonetheless.
Both actors received a nod for outstanding acting in a lead role in the NBC comedy series, and the series itself was also nominated for the best comedy series award.
“We’re grateful and excited,” Fey said. “Especially since today is the fifth anniversary of the day NBC forgot to cancel us.” Baldwin concurred, noting that “Once again, I am grateful and delighted to be nominated. And I am deeply indebted to Tina, Robert Carlock, Lorne, Marci Klein and Jeff Zucker.”
Perhaps at this point, the stars can relax a bit, as they’ve clearly proven their comedic chops. On her Emmy nod for outstanding lead actress in a comedy program, Fey described the moment as exciting, and also “an appropriate time for me to announce to NBC that I will not be renewing my contract… with my gym.”
